OMG Oh My God movie is adapted from a highly acclaimed Gujrati play named “Kanji Virrudh Kanji”. It also includes influences of Paresh Rawal‘s Hindi play “Krishan vs Kanhaiya”.
The story is based on the life of Kanjibhai (Paresh Rawal), an antique shopkeeper. When a tornado destroys his antique store, he begins to disbelieve in God.
The film revolves around his journey at taking down God which he is unable to do, but clearly doesn’t realize, and soon begins to fight all the priests of the city, which starts mayhem until Lord Krishna (Akshay Kumar) pays Kanji an unexpected visit.
OMG – Oh My God! is a 2012 Indian satirical comedy-drama film. The storyline is based on a Gujarati stage-play entitled Kanji Virudh Kanji and on the 2001 Australian film The Man Who Sued God. It is directed by Umesh Shukla. Krishna helps Kanji win his case, his family and helps him find his faith in God, along the way showing how priests can turn religion into a business and that God can be found everywhere, particularly in a house of worship. Oh my God is a story about a person (Kanji Lalji Mehta) who loses his shop in an earthquake. an atheist, owns a small shop selling religious goods, concocting cock-and-bull stories to extract higher fees from his customers for his wares.
